Fellow 2026 Gabi Balcarce
Gabi Balcarce holds a PhD in Philosophy (UBA, 2011) and is an Assistant Professor in Metaphysics, Special Problems of Metaphysics, and Philosophy of Animality in the Philosophy Department at the University of Buenos Aires. Their research interests include deconstruction and posthumanism.
They are an Independent Researcher at CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research), specialising in Deconstruction and Posthuman Studies, as well as Director of several research projects (Genealogies of the Posthuman: Some Contributions from Jacques Derrida and Gilles Deleuze PIP 2023-2025, 0128, and Posthuman modes of subjectivity and being-with-others 01-PICT 2022-2022-04-00040). They are a Founding Member of the Posthuman Lab, which encourages multidisciplinary research on Posthumanities, a Member of the Posthumanism Research Institute at Brock University, and part of the Red Latinoamericana de Posthumanismo network. Furthermore, they are Director of the Journal Estudios Posthumanos and author of the books Derrida (Galerna, 2016) and Posthumanismo spectral (La Cebra, 2023).
