Fellow 2025-2026 Debolina Chatterjee
Debolina Chatterjee is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. Her research interests lie in the areas of sociology of health, ageing, gender, and prison studies.

She completed her Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and PhD from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Her thesis entailed a qualitative research on how women perceive and negotiate with their health under conditions of imprisonment. She has published several book chapters as well as articles in reputed journals including Women & Criminal Justice, International Journal of Prisoner Health, and The Prison Journal. She also co-authored the book, COVID-19, Older Adults and the Ageing Society, published by Routledge.
