Fellow 2025-2026 Ana Honnacker
My work is centered around the current challenges of pluralist societies: How can we live well together? What does it mean to be (a) human in the 21st century? My research interests cover environmental philosophy (Anthropocene, ecological transformation), political philosophy (theories of democracy, science and politics) as well as philosophy of religion (humanism, religious pluralism).

From 2023-2025, I was Romano Guardini guest professor of philosophy of religion at the LMU Munich (2023-2025). I also held positions at the Hochschule für Philosophie München, the Forschungsinstitut für Philosophie Hannover, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the University of Münster. Moreover, I am member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Religionsphilosophie and founding member as well as part of the executive board of the German Pragmatism Network. Since 2008, I am teaching regularly at German Universities (e.g. Münster, Hildesheim, Düsseldorf and Munich). Drawing mainly on the tradition of philosophical pragmatism, I understand philosophy not only as an academic discipline but also as a critical tool for everyday life. Consequently, I am interested in and engaged in different forms of Public Philosophy.
