FELLOWSHIPS
The CAPAS Fellows form the core of the Center's academic research community. Each year, CAPAS awards approximately 15 fellowships to international scholars from a wide range of academic disciplines. These fellowships support collaborative research projects that explore both theoretical and practical dimensions of the end of the world—and what may come after. During their time at CAPAS, Fellows have the unique opportunity to engage in open, transdisciplinary dialogue, free from the usual demands of academic life.
Fellows are provided with office space, work materials, and logistical support. Those who take unpaid leave from their home institutions during the fellowship receive financial compensation in the form of a stipend (ranging from approx. €3.500 to €6.000 monthly). Alternatively, CAPAS can cover the cost of a teaching replacement at the Fellow’s home institution, for up to €6.000 per month as well. Financial support is determined in accordance with regulations set by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Limited accommodation is available in the university’s guest houses and can be financed through either the fellowship stipend or the Fellow’s regular salary.
