Curriculum Vitae

Eva-Maria Bergdolt earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Organization with a specialization in Development Studies from the University of Groningen in 2015. During her studies, she obtained the Marco Polo Grant to study at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and research international cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Colombia. Subsequently, she received the Erasmus Mundus international joint degree Master of Excellence in Euroculture: Society, Politics and Culture in a Global Context from the University of Deusto, Uppsala Universitet, and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2017.

After her academic studies, Eva first led a project to develop a corporate culture and communication strategy in an occupational health and safety company in Germany in 2018. She then realized ¡Adelante!, Ibero-American Theatre Festival 2020, the international co-production La flauta mágica, and its premiere at Santiago a Mil in Chile, at the municipal theatre Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Until recently, she was the company manager of the international dance company Dance Theatre Heidelberg and production manager of the Tanzbiennale Heidelberg 2021 at the same theatre.

Beyond her research focus on geopolitical discourse concerning climate change and cultural politics in territorial disputes, she is interested in communication on the intersection of arts and science, decolonial theory, and gender studies. At CAPAS, she engages particularly in research on end-time narratives in contemporary and performative arts.
